Storymaking in Gateshead

On the 25th of July, in the middle of a nationwide heatwave. We ran a Storymaking workshop at the Open University offices in Gateshead.

Storified by Documentally· Thu, Jul 25 2013 00:44:18

What with this being the most northerly Storymaking walk yet, I decided to travel up the day before. When I got to Huntingdon train station I was given some inside information as to why my tickets to Newcastle never work in the automatic barriers.
The train networks need coders. We all do. #AudiomoThe train networks need coders. We all do. #Audiomo from documentally on BLIMS
As it was audio bloggers month (#AudioMo)I recorded some thoughts to the platform App.net with the app HashPan (#Pan)
While on the train I hung my Mifi from a little sucker on the window. This ensures I have the best 3G-to-wifi signal when in transit.
My train wifi is the best train wifi. #ou_msw pic.twitter.com/8sdL52aXKODocumentally
Sometimes the sockets on trains don’t work or haven’t been switched on. It’s good practise to have your own mobile power.
Someone forgot to turn on the sockets on the train. Using the Powermonkey Extreme instead. #ou_msw pic.twitter.com/dxHOZOzxUaDocumentally
Soon enough I arrived in sunny Newcastle. Which was good because i’d only packed shorts and sandals.

That said, while crossing the bridge into Gateshead I could see a storm approaching.
